Job description

You will be responsible for about 2-3 teams out of one project stream. As Scrum master, you are responsible to ensure the implementation of the agile methodology including principles, ceremonies, etc. to enable greater collaboration and communication within and between teams. You understand agile is a cultural change that impacts people, processes and tools in different ways across the organization, based on an iterative, time boxed and incremental approach where requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between self-organizing and cross-functional teams. You promote adaptive planning, evolutionary development and delivery and encourage a rapid and flexible response to change.

Responsibilities/Tasks

  • Make sure that the agile teams follow the defined agile processes and methodology
  • Managing the scrum process
  • Make sure all the impediments coming up for the agile teams are tracked and worked on
  • Making sure that the product backlog is maintained by the product owner according as agreed
  • Responsible to conduct and lead retrospective meetings/scoping/pre scoping/planning meetings
  • Participating in scrum governance gremiums for the whole program (cross projectstream)
  • Acts as a safe guard to the teams

Our partner is an international shared service company registered office in Munich. Their customers are companies across the globe to which their 7,500 employees across the international locations offer innovative, top-quality products and services in the fields of IT Services and Operations.

All of our partner’s project moved to an agile approach more than 2 years ago and their teams are set-up according to the disciplined agile delivery framework. They want to establish the scrum master role as compulsory for all the streams and therefore we are looking for additional scrum masters.

Requirements
  • Bachelor or master degree in information technology
  • Very good knowledge of agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, XP
  • Experience working for agile teams that transformed from waterfall model to agile
  • Very good understanding of software development /delivery processes
  • Experience with Agile tool suites (e.g. Jira and Confluence, Rally, Agile Central)
  • Sense of ownership and pride in performance and its impact on success
  • Problem solving skills
  • Solution oriented
  • Team player
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Flexibility to travel (moderate amount will be required)

Additional competence description

7-10 years of experience as a scrum master or in a similar role (for software development teams)
