Key requirements/skills/experience
Academic background
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field
- Strong Data Warehouse background, accumulating at least 5 years’ experience in DW development in an enterprise environment
- 5 year+ experience in building MSTR semantic layer as developer and architect
- Hands on experience in SQL, PL/SQL and one or many ETL tools
- Experience with Linux environments and shell scripting
- Current experience and expertise with Oracle 11g or newer version
- Strong experience in working with Business Analysts or Business Customers for requirements definition and transforming these into technical design
- Demonstrated experience with software development life cycle methodologies, including agile
- Worked in environments that demand fast paced effective delivery under tight timeline/budget

- Self-driven with an ability to work closely with business analysts and development team to work towards quality product rollout
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
- Effective at managing multiple issues with conflicting priorities under tight deadlines
- High energy, innovative individual who is motivated by challenging assignments
- Comfortable working independently, but has experience working in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal, oral, and written
- Insurance or Finance Industry experience preferred
- Very good command of English language
Desired requirements/skills/experience
- Experience in project management and agile approaches
- Change data capture and real-time replication/real-time ETL (Attunity, DataGuard, GoldenGate, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI))
- Use of Web Services for data exchange (SOAP, XML)
- Experience in at least one reporting/OLAP tool such as Microstrategy, SAS Visual Analytics, Cognos, Business Objects.
- Understanding and interest in Hadoop and “non-classic” DW/BI approaches
- Strong aptitude and desire to learn new technologies and tools
- German language skills
