Job description

We are seeking a candidate to serve as our BI Lead within the Application Architecture & Development group. This role will serve as the point person for BI strategy, delivery, and advisory for the group. This role will lead a team of developers to deliver world class BI and analytics platforms and solutions for our business and clients

  • Demonstrable understanding of development processes and agile methodologies
  • Successful track record managing solutions from requirements analysis, to feature definition to deployment and throughout out its usable life
  • Knowledge of one or more database technologies and experienced in Cloud Technologies
  • Experience with business analytics products, especially Power BI
  • Proficiency in writing Advanced SQLs, experience with data science and machine learning tools and technologies is a plus
Requirements
  • Ability to successfully work and partner across multiple functions in an organization.
  • Distinctive problem-solving, communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • At least 6 years solid Power Query and DAX coding experience with tabular models using at least SQL Server Analysis Services 2016, preferably 2017 and Azure Analysis Services
  • At least 6 years Power BI experience
  • Demonstrable experience designing tabular models from scratch as part of a semantic layer implementing complex business logic
  • Experience gathering and analysing business requirements; documenting their technical implementation
  • Routine use of source control (Git, SVN, TFS, etc) as part of regular BI development activities.
  • Proven experience trouble shooting and resolving analysis services issues. Debugging, identifying bugs and driving them to closure by working closely with the development team
  • Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team in an Agile / Scrum environment ensuring quality deliverable end of each sprint.
  • Tabular model development and deployment accelerators such as BISM Normalizer or Analysis Services Deployment Wizard.
  • Knowledge of conceptual, logical and physical data modelling, dimensional models, star schemas etc. (although this is not a data modelling role)
  • Tabular model performance tuning, partitioning and optimisation experience
  • Test-driven BI development using NBi, SentryOne Legitest, DbFit or other testing framework
