Job description

The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a crucial role to the implementation of the "Scaled Agile Framework" (SAFe) as agile development framework within the company.

The role contributes to the definition and continuous improvement of all processees and tools necessary for cross-functional teams to enable them to successfully deliver new products.

Specific responsibilities of the RTE are (but not limited to) facilitating "Agile Release Train" (ART) processes and execution including facilitating relevant sync events, help educate the ART in SAFe, help removing impediments and foster an environment for high-performig team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement.

The RTE will be working with a varying number of involved brands, products and functions on a global base.

What You will do:

  • Help educate the ART in SAFe, supporting and enabling leadership and teams to become high-performing
  • Facilitate ART processes and execution, coach leaders, teams and Scrum Masters in new processes and mindsets
  • Help remove impediments and foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow and relentless improvement (Inspect & Adapt)
  • Assisting the self-organizing, self-managing ART to achieve its goals
  • Facilitates ART relevant events, e.g. PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, ART Syncs, E2E Testing, etc.
  • Risk and dependency management within the ART as well as to outside consumers and enablers
  • Manages and tracks the execution of features and capabilities
  • Helps Product Management & Solution Architecture in their efforts to manage the Program backlog and guide them while facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope
  • Supports overall Agile Governance Team by being a source and relentless driver towards the convergence of agile and classic development processes
Requirements

What You will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Psychology, Communications, Business Administration or related field
  • Strong communication skills, both interpersonal and intercultural
  • Servant leader
  • Proven experience in large scale software development programs
  • Experience in working with technical and cross-functional teams to deliver value early and often
  • Experience in the SAFe Agile inc. Backlog Management, Feature & Story Refinement, Prioritization, Business Value Estimation, Stakeholder (Expectation) Management, Customer Management
  • Experience in agile/lean environments; preferably experience with Scrum, Kanban, Lean Portfolio Management
  • Experience in the role of a Scrum Master/Agile Coach/RTE in SAFe context
  • Experience in strategic, large or team transformations
  • Agile Certification (SPC, RTE, SSM) is a plus
  • Ideally experienced in Customer Support, Warranty and Technical Services Area
