Business Intelligence & Big Data (BI&BD) is responsible within to drive the Business Intelligence strategy and to deliver modular and reusable Business Intelligence Solutions to worldwide, leveraging synergies of skills, scope, and resources. As the BI&BD unit is currently expanding in the Budapest office, you will have the opportunity to work with a highly dynamic, international and rapidly growing team of BI&BD project managers, engineers, developers, and architects. Data Infrastructure Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Take part of designing, maintaining and testing of DW/BI applications
  • Manage data infrastructure supporting both internal teams and external users across the company
  • Diagnose, fix, improve, and automate complex issues across the entire stack to ensure maximum uptime and performance
  • Perform code reviews to identify basic technical and logical errors
  • Participate and drive release / change activities, such as code deployment, manual loads
  • Participate in project activities

Further responsibilities

  • Act, in case of need, as expert support in the operations of DW/BI solutions under GAP responsibility
  • Develop best practices to improve productivity and utilize programming principles, tools, and techniques to write solution codes
  • Collaborate with users and other stakeholders
Requirements

Key requirements /skills /experience

Academic background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field
  • Good communication skills in English
  • At least Medior Data Warehouse background, accumulating at least 3 to 5 years of experience in DW development in an enterprise environment
  • Conceptual knowledge of RDBMS’
  • High level knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL
  • Experience with Linux environments and shell scripting is a nice to have
  • Current experience and expertise with Oracle 11g or newer version
  • Strong experience in working with Business Analysts or Business Customers for requirements definition and transforming these into technical design
  • Demonstrated experience with software development life cycle methodologies, including agile
  • Worked in environments that demand fast paced effective delivery under tight timelines

Desired requirements /skills /experience

  • Basic Oracle DBA knowledge
  • Proficiency in any shell or scripting language (bash, python, etc..)
  • Experience in SAS Enterprise Data Management suite and SAS programming/macros
  • Hands on experience in one or many ETL tools
  • Experience in at least one reporting/OLAP tool such as Microstrategy, SAS Visual Analytics, Cognos, Business Objects.
  • Strong aptitude and desire to learn new technologies and tools
  • German language skills are a plus
  • Self-driven with and ability to work closely with business analysts and development team to work towards quality product rollout
