The Kolumbus Suite is a third-party software from Innovas. Kolumbus is used by the Private Krankenversicherung (private health insurance) for data exchange between hospitals and Business System(ABS) (DFÜ/Connect), for manual recording of hospital admission and dismissal notifications, their professional verification (DRG-Grouper) and for patient support. This means that Kolumbus is very strongly integrated within ABS with multiple interfaces (application systems and infrastructure).

The Kolumbus Suite is a client-server application with Java clients (user interface), Java web application (business logic) and relational DB2 database (persistence). The application server is preceded by an Apache web server. Batch processes are usually integrated in the normal Java client or delivered separately (e.g. Hospital data import).

• Coordinating changes in the processes with BO and the department via the internal SPOC
• Checking incoming and outgoing messages, message queues
• Defect analysis and correction
• Server support and active support for release changes of server software or server operating system
• Support for the roadmap of Innovas for the further development of the Columbus application
• Support of the cloud migration in the company for the third-party software Kolumbus
